- Brand Communication, Brand Development, Brand Identity
Rooted in heritage, looking to the future
A popular ocean-side resort since the Victorian era, Kilkee continues to charm visitors today with its idyllic location and passionate community. In light of the success of tourist developments such as the Wild Atlantic Way, Kilkee Council had identified an opportunity to similarly reinvigorate the identity of the town and surrounding areas with a brand initiative that would positively distinguish it a modern destination for visitors, locals and future inhabitants alike.
Our Approach
[MULTI-STAKEHOLDER PROJECT]
We worked with local business leaders and councillors, to help define the overarching framework for the identity, grounded in the future ambition to become a credible alternative for people to live in and build careers, alongside the established tourism aspect.
The Result
Our design approach centred on creating a distinctive, ‘hand-crafted’ logo that thoughtfully brings together the defining elements of the place – the coast, the land and the sea. More than a symbol, it captures the character and balance of the region, reflecting both its natural environment and its evolving identity. This visual language was then developed into a flexible graphic device, applied consistently across all brand touchpoints to create a cohesive and recognisable experience. From town wayfinding and digital platforms to printed materials and sustainably sourced clothing, every element was carefully considered to ensure a seamless, unified expression of the brand in both everyday and more immersive interactions.
